I applied for a Canadian visa and I just got a request from IRCC to submit my passport, does that mean my visa has been approved?

Passport submission for Canada does not necessarily mean that your visa has been approved.
When you’re asked to submit your passport, it means that the visa processing has reached a stage where a decision has been made, but you won’t know the outcome until your passport is returned.
If your visa is approved, the visa will be stamped in your passport.
If it’s not approved, you’ll receive your passport back without a visa stamp and possibly with a letter explaining the decision.
