When I asked to renew it, I was told that it’s not possible to renew a visa after it has expired. You must apply for a new visa before the current one expires to maintain your legal status in Australia.

In my case, I applied for a new visa immediately before the one I had expired.

From my experience, cancelling your Australian visa application does not have any effect on your future applications.

I cancelled my Australian visa application once and was worried it would affect my future applications.

However, I discovered that as long as there was no fraudulent activity or misrepresentation involved, cancelling an application doesn’t hurt future applications.

When you want to cancel, make sure you’re honest about the reason for cancelling.
