A study permit allows you to study in a foreign country – like engage in academic activities, while a student visa is a travel document that allows you to enter the issuing country.

For example, in Canada, the study permit authorizes yu to study in the country, but a student visa or eTA is what you need to enter the country.

Without a student visa, you can’t enter the country likewise if you have a student visa and enter with it but you don’t have a study permit, you can’t study or engage in academic activities.

For countries like the USA where you have only a student visa, it often combines both study and entry permissions in one document.

Of course, if you're a student in the UK, you can travel outside the country while studying. During my master's in the UK, I travelled to many countries before my program finished. Every break was an opportunity for me to travel and I never wasted it.

Failing too many classes will also affect the student’s visa, as students need to maintain good academic progress to keep their visa status.

Yes, you can change the date of your nonimmigrant US visa appointment. You can do this by logging into your visa application profile, selecting "Reschedule Appointment," and choosing a new available date. While you do this, remember that the number of times you can change it is limited.

Yes, you can apply for both a US student visa and a Canadian student visa simultaneously.

Each country processes visa applications independently, and having applications in both does not negatively affect your chances, as long as you meet the requirements for each visa.

The only issue that will possibly arise is if the two country’s immigration authorities demand your passport at the same time.
