With a Canadian student visa, you can visit:

1. Mexico
If Mexico is one of the countries you’d love to visit, you can make your dream a reality, but you need a valid passport.

In addition to your passport, you’ll complete a tourist card (Forma Migratoria Múltiple) on arrival.
- Eligible nationalities: All countries
- Entry granted: You can visit for up to 180 days
- Condition: Your Canadian student visa must be valid for your entire stay in Mexico.

2. Costa Rica
If you are a nature lover, Costa Rica is the right place to be.
The country has amazing lush rainforests, breathtaking volcanoes, and diverse wildlife.
Costa Rica is a paradise for eco-tourists and yes, you can visit with your Canadian student visa.
However, the number of days you’ll stay is limited.

In addition, you must have a valid passport and of course, sufficient funds to sponsor yourself throughout your stay.
- Eligible nationalities: All nationalities are allowed
- Duration of your stay: You can stay up to 30 days
- Entry condition: Your visa must be valid for at least 60 days from arrival.
3. Malaysia
With your Canadian student visa, you can go to Malaysia for short visits (usually tourism) without an additional visa for up to 90 days.
Before your visit, ensure that your passport is valid for at least six months beyond your intended departure date.
4. United Kingdom
There is no visa exemption, but you are allowed to request a 24-hour entry at London’s Heathrow airport.

The decision to grant you 24-hour entry is at the discretion of the immigration officer in charge.
- Eligible nations:Â All nationalities
- Entry duration: 24 hours only – Transit without visa
- Entry conditions:Â You must be travelling to or from Canada only
- You must hold a boarding pass for the onward flight and arrive and depart by air only

5. European Union (Schengen Area)
With a valid Canadian student visa, you can travel to many European countries within the Schengen Area for up to 90 days within 180 days.
However, each country has other travel conditions you must follow on arrival or before your travel.
6. Nicaragua
You are not exempted from getting a visa but you can get a visa on arrival.
The visa fee is $50, and it’s valid for 30 days, single entry.

- Duration: 30 days
- Entry conditions:Â You also need to pay a $10 entry fee, a $2 land border migration fee (this is for land border only), and a USD 1 municipality tax (also for land border only).
- You can pay in USD only.
Before travelling to Nicaragua with your valid Canadian student visa, make sure you are from an eligible nation.
In addition, it won’t hurt to go with other travel documents.
7. Panama
To be allowed into Panama, your Canada student visa must be valid for at least 3 months from the day of your arrival.
Your passport isn’t left out either, it must be valid for at least 30 days from the day you arrive in the country.

- Entry conditions:Â You must show proof of sufficient funds for your entire stay, at least $500

8. France
France is another country you can visit with your Canadian student visa.
However, you can be asked to get separate travel permission depending on your country of origin and how long you plan to stay.
9. Aruba
To visit Aruba with a Canada visa, you must be from an eligible nation which includes only citizens of Bolivia, China, Cuba, the Dominican Republic, Haiti, India, Jamaica, and Venezuela.

10. Jamaica
If you are from Croatia, Dominican Republic, Honduras, Kazakhstan, Macedonia, Moldova, Albania, Belarus, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Bulgaria, Montenegro, Romania, and Serbia, you can visit Jamaica with your Canadian student visa for up to 30 days.
But, you need a return ticket and a valid passport.

11. Bahamas
The Bahamas isn’t left out. With your Canadian student visa, you can visit the Bahamas and stay for over three months without a separate visa.
- Eligible nations: Only Indian passport holders.
- Duration:Â 90 days
- Entry condition: The Bahamas shares the same condition with Jamaica.
- Before you visit, you need a return ticket, a valid passport, and proof of sufficient funds.
12. Antigua and Barbuda
You can enter with your student visa but you must get a visa on arrival.
In addition, you’ll pay $100 (visa fee), and your Canada visa must be valid till the end of your stay.

13. Haiti
Only students from Colombia, the Dominican Republic, Panama, and Cuba are allowed to visit Haiti without a separate visa.
- Entry duration: You can visit for up to 90 days
- Entry conditions: You’ll pay a $10 tourist fee on arrival and your passport must be valid for at least 6 months from the day of your arrival.
14. Peru

- Entry duration: You are allowed to stay for up to 180 days
- Entry conditions: Your Canada visa must be valid for at least 6 months from the day of your arrival
15. Armenia
Citizens of over 51 countries including Marshall Islands, Micronesia, Mongolia, Morocco, Myanmar, Nauru, Nicaragua, Palau, Papua New Guinea, Paraguay, Philippines, Saint Kitts and Nevis, Saint Lucia, Samoa, Saudi Arabia, Solomon Islands, Suriname, Algeria, Bahrain, Belize, Bhutan, Bolivia, Brunei, Tonga, Trinidad and Tobago, Tunisia, Turkmenistan, Tuvalu, Vanuatu, Venezuela, Cambodia, Colombia, Costa Rica, Cuba, Egypt, Fiji, Grenada, Guatemala, Guyana, Haiti, Honduras, India, Indonesia, Iraq, Jamaica, Kiribati, Laos, Malaysia, Maldives, Timor-Leste, and Vietnam can visit Armenia with a Canada student visa.
- Entry conditions: You’ll receive a visa on arrival.
- The visa will be valid for 21 days and you’ll pay a visa fee of 3,000 AMD, for a single entry.
- E-visa prints are not accepted
- Lastly, your passport must be valid for the entirety of your stay.
16. Montenegro
- Eligible nations: Open to all nationalities
- Entry granted: You are allowed to visit for up to 30 days
- Entry condition: Your visa must be valid for your intended stay
17. Georgia
- Eligible nations:Â All nationalities
- Entry duration: Up to 90 days
- Entry condition: Your Canada visa must be valid till the end of your stay in Georgia.
You can only stay up to 90 days in 180 days.
18. Oman
Not every student with a valid Canada student visa is allowed to visit Oman.
Before planning your visit, confirm (from the country’s immigration authorities) if your country is eligible.
- Entry duration: You are allowed to visit for up to 30 days
- Entry condition: You can apply for a visa on arrival at the airport, land border, or seaport.
- The visa fee is 20 OMR for a single entry only.
19. Egypt
If you want to visit, you can get a visa on arrival at any international airport in the country.
The visa fee is $25 and it’s valid for 30 day’s single entry only.

- Duration: 30 days
20. Qatar
As much as you are allowed to enter Qatar VISA-FREE, you need to apply for an A3 Visa (ETA) on the Hayya portal or mobile app for E-gate usage at the airports.
In addition, your Canadian visa must be valid on the day of your arrival or the day of applying for ETA (if you are applying).

21. Japan
To visit Japan, you can apply for a Japan e-Visa, the fee is JPY 3,000.
E-Visa is valid for 90 days and you’re allowed to enter only by flight.

22. Singapore
You’re allowed to visit if you are travelling to or from the country of your passport (China or India).
- Eligible nation: Only if you hold a Chinese or an Indian passport.
- Entry duration: You can visit for 4 days.

23. Taiwan
You don’t need a visa but you must apply for an ROC Travel Authorization Certificate online before arrival.
ROC Travel Authorization Certificate is valid for 90 days and it’s free, multiple entry.
- Eligible nations: Only Cambodia, India, Indonesia, Laos, Myanmar, and Vietnam
- Entry duration: Only for 14 days.
24. Italy
With Italy, you need a return ticket.
In addition, your passport must be valid and you must demonstrate sufficient funds before you enter the country.
Other countries you can also visit include Germany, Spain, China, and Greece.

Can I visit the USA with a Canadian student visa?
You can visit the USA with a Canadian student visa but when you arrive at the point of entry, you’ll complete the I-94 record with the U.S. immigration officials.
Students in Canada with a valid study permit are allowed to visit the United States for tourism or other non-academic/academic purposes.
Can you travel to the UK with a Canada student visa?
Having a Canadian student visa doesn’t mean you can automatically travel to the UK.
If you want to visit the UK, you’ll apply for the right UK visa. The type of visa you’ll need depends on why you’re visiting and how long you plan to stay.
